BULLET PROOF GLASS
The bulletproof glass in vehicles of US Presidential Transports is fragile and lacks a well-organized crystalline structure. If it did, it would behave like steel, which dents and deforms rather than breaking. Channeling the bullet’s kinetic energy into breaking the glass causes the glass to absorb the bullet’s energy. The softer plastic layer strengthens the glass by keeping it in place and enabling it to bend back as it absorbs the shock.
